Ms Paloma attended the 3rd International Gems & Jewelry Trends of China as guest speaker - March 2024

The 3rd International Gems & Jewelry Trends of China was held at Chimelong International Convention Centre, Panyu, Guangzhou from 7th to 9th March 2024, hosted by the GBGM (Commerce Bureau of Guangzhou Municipal) and CCPIT- Guangdong (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade), co-organized by the People's Government of Panyu District of Guangzhou Municipality, GAC (Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China), and NGTC (National Gems & Jewelry Testing Co. Ltd) , supported by CGMC (China Gem Magazine Co., LTD).

As the only professional who truly understands the Western gems and jewelry market, and has a deep knowledge of Chinese philosophy, society, consumer behavior and jewelry trend, Ms Paloma Sanchez gave a fascinating speech under the title of "Trend Asia: Pearls", sharing her insights into the trend in 2024: Pearl from three perspectives: "Asia-China", "Poetry-Feelings" and "Versatility".

Ms Paloma believes that reimagining pearls in a modern way while retaining the essence of ancient Chinese culture is a major trend in jewelry. That is, exploring traditional cultural and historical elements, combining them with modern aesthetics, and creating jewelry pieces with unique charms and cultural connotations.

Nowadays people regard poetry and feelings as the main motivation for acquiring jewelry. A poetic name that conveys poetry and feelings can help interpret the theme and inspiration of the piece, humanize the work, and bring it closer to the viewer. Combining different materials and textures can also add to fascinating poetry feelings. Moreover, one-of-a-kind, designer jewelry is today’s trend, and baroque pearls, with their distinctive shapes, are perfect for making a personal statement.

Finally, Ms Paloma suggests that Versatility, namely "One fits all" is a new trend in jewelry design, since more and more people are now favoring multi-functional jewelry which can be styled in different ways to suit all kinds of occasions.
