Museum-collector Level Art Pieces to 2021 Design Beijing - May 2021
The 6th Design Beijing Fair will take place from April 30th to May 3rd, 2021, at the Beijing National Agricultural Exhibition Center. Under the theme of “DESIGN THERAPY,” the fair aims to harness the healing power of exceptional design to create more enriching environments for everyday life. Paloma Sanchez, The Art of Jewelry, has been invited to be a part of this inspiring event.
There were almost 20 art pieces on display during the expo, and the Copper Socketed spear point series especially caused a sensation as it's from 2500 years ago. It is one of the earliest and most important tools developed by early humans. The Old Copper Complex, or Old Copper Culture, was an ancient Native North American society that is known to have extensively produced and used copper for weaponry and tools. Native Americans who lived on the Keweenaw Peninsula long before the arrival of Europeans used the unique native copper of the region to fashion tools, weapons, and jewelry. The State of Wisconsin is one of the states that are home to what was called “The Old Copper Complex,” which was the first North American miners. There is archaeological evidence that indicates prehistoric Native American Indians began to populate the area we call Wisconsin at least 11,500 years ago. Old Copper Complex artifacts include varieties of fishhooks, harpoons, spears, dart points, awls, knives, and socketed spear points; we can see these artifacts only in museums or some private collections.
As a renowned artist and designer worldwide, Paloma Sanchez shared her brand story and its development over the years during the media preview event, as well as her commitment to social responsibility regarding children's education and women's empowerment.
She also gave a talk at PechaKucha Night, with the theme 'The Inner Connectivity between Exclusivity and Art, and between Art and Us as Individuals.' PechaKucha 20*20 is a simple presentation format featuring 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds, specially designed for designers worldwide.
May 2nd was also the day when Paloma Sanchez celebrated her birthday and friends came to give her special ceremony and made the day meaningful and unforgettable.
