Paloma Sanchez in Japan Jewelry Fair - July 2017
They came for a glimpse, but they lingered a little longer. Then they left, only to return with more friends and introduce themselves. The marvel in their eyes said it all. They looked at the different pieces of jewelry as if they were sculptures standing in a museum. That moment reminded us why we cared so much about sharing our designs with the world—why we went to Japan to share, to inspire, and to be inspired by like-minded professionals.
With the resurgence of the Japanese economy well underway, the Japanese luxury industry, which is second only to the United States, is forecasted to experience similar growth rates.
The Japan Jewelry Fair (JJF), organized by UBM Japan Co., Ltd. and the Japan Jewelry Association, presents an opportunity for us and like-minded professionals in the luxury jewelry industry to meet and network. As one of the brands that participated in the 25th Annual Japan Jewelry Fair, both our experiences and the friendships we made were inspiring and heartwarming.
Some of the jewelry pieces on display in our booth included items from our “Atlantis Collection” and “Together Collection.”
During the course of the event, we were introduced to several individuals that have played and are still playing an important role in the Japanese luxury jewelry market. We also had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends from the Gemological institute of America. We shared ideas, we exchanged contacts with them, and discussed potential collaborative opportunities.
We must say that it was a success. Not only because we made new friends, and that we were able to create more awareness for the Paloma Sanchez brand. but also because we were reminded of what was important to us. We were reminded that “the art of jewelry" is a principle that we should share with the rest of the world.
